THEY CALL THEM PAYAG

This I took in bantayan Island Visayas. A 2 hour bus drive through cebu north provices then a 45 minute burge float to bantayan Island.
The location here is Ogtong cave resort. Nice place.
This house is called 'payag' by the local Cebuanos and bantayanions. Notice how the house floats off the ground? well I like this about it because it gives the impression of a floating house.
The brown stuff on the wall is woven bamboo stands; wafts and wefts. this can last in a house for decades with proper care and vanishing. It is locally called 'amakan' and can be bought cheaply and readily at the lumbers.
The floor part of the house is ply wood; saves on cement.
The house is very accommodative, simple and classy. I love it.
